loin rubbing

I am beginning to notice some loin rubbing on my arab.  Its not soring him (yet), but he looks darker there because the hair is thinner (he's grey) and his skin shows thru more.

 

I have a sportsaddle.  I know that this isn't an uncommon problem with this saddle with short-backed downhill horses.  I've had a heck of a time fitting a saddle to this guy, and this is the best I've found by far, so I'd like to try and make it work.

 

Has anyone found a pad that helps reduce friction?  I've heard that the supracore cell pad is designed for that (vs cushioning).  I know alot of people like the Dixie Midnight pad, but don't know if it would help in this case.

 

Anyone have any experience in solving this problem???
