Howard,

I gave you a hard time when you first posted this account -- for two
reasons.

The first was that the story contained so much stupid, insulting, extraneous
junk, which detracted from the important experience you were sharing.  All
that junk is gone now.  Congratulations!  Now, it's really good.  And
disturbing.  And useful.  A cautionary tale for all of us.

The second thing that really pi**ed me off was that you were paid for the EN
publication of the first part of the story.  We'd been having considerable
discussion about why AERC couldn't afford to pay professionals like Susan
and DSS for their articles, and then you announced that you'd been paid for
an article that was bloated -- and seriously marred -- by some very juvenile
humor.  I still don't think you should be paid for any of your writings
unless all authors are paid, but now you've got a ride story that should be
printed, in full, in EN.
