Actually there is a minority, very small, who feels that there is a chance 
that the horse has been here all along and was not wiped out and then 
reintroduced.  However, the majority view would be that all are currently 
feral, and so I stand corrected and amend my post to "I'd bet (my .25 
limit, of course) that if you took all of them off the island, put them 
someplace where other horses live that have been living wild for years 
successfully"
