  I have tried the western safty helmet...very bulky
and hot. It dosn't have any vents  and here in Texas
we need the vents! 
  I bought The Beak from Australian Connection  to
give my helmet a bit more shade and love it. It
velcros right on your helmet and wont come off (unlike
the cashel visor) It is also soft enough so if you
fall it won't hurt you. You might want to check this
out.
