Some mentors are
particularly proactive, too.
In my case a Peruvian Paso
endurance rider has gone out of her way to encourage other Peruvian horse owners
to get involved in the sport. Along with a breeder who volunteered to host the
events, she has put on two free clinics to acquaint everyone with the procedures
and teach the basics. She is now the "guiding force" for a small but
growing group of PP endurance riders.
It would be wonderful to
see this sort of thing more established, but I believe individuals this
dedicated might be hard to come by! I'm quite sure I would not have become
involved without her help and inspiration.

managers could find a volinteer to give an additional little
meeting for all the first time riders. Oldies could attend to volinteer
