Grass has electrolytes, if you've got the time to let him eat it...and
I've heard (ask Susan if it's true) that a puddle that's accumulated from
runoff around gravel (maybe it's limestone >g<) may contain more calcium?
By the way, Kaboot will take a mudhole over a running stream any
day...and after seeing a bloated dead animal lying in a stream bed...and
horses pooping in it, I now would take a puddle over risking what might
be going on upstream.
