too much land
Pattie, I second Bob's motion to stay on top. I
live in one of the most densely populated counties in Florida (Pinellas) and we
are heavy in backyard horses. The county commissioners don't want to acknowledge
that we exist and neighboring city councilmen and woman tell horse people what
they want to hear and then do whatever the hell they want to. Sometimes if you
can show that the county or city gave variances or changed zoning to accommodate
developers or special interest groups you can at least make them think. But that
takes a lot of leg work and evening meetings. Keep your horse neighbors up to
date, remind your county and city what kind of economical impact you have in the
community and contact the American Horse Council and your local horse council to
see if you can get some advice and help. It is a pain in the neck, been there
done that, can't wait to move to GA. We have property there and when I went to
inquire about permits for a few things they said, "Oh honey, we don't care whut
you dew as long as you don't bothea the neighbors." That is my kind of
neighborhood! Good Luck Lisa Salas The Odd Farm
