Sorry, I've been gone for awhile and just getting caught up. In a nutshell,
I agree with Angie---give 'em early, often and past when you think the horse
is "recovered". Small doses via syringe rather than in water or feed, and
take advantage of the research that's been done in producing
endurance-focused elyte mixes when at rides. At home, just supply free
choice, loose, plain white salt and a good diet.
