May I suggest another one?  When filling out the entry blank, don't check 
boxes or circle choices as to which mileage you want to ride or which choice 
of awards you want. Keep the ride manager guessing, it's more fun that way.  
Also, when the entry fee for one mileage is the same as for another, don't 
check which ride you want, just send the required amount of money and let the 
ride manager guess which ride you want to do.
