The bug repellent you are referring to is called Freedom.  I just
bought some and a friend just checked it out with her vet.  The 
one important thing that EVERYONE should know about this product
is that it contains Pyrethrin (spelling may be wrong) which is 
very lethal to cats... all they need to do is touch something 
that has come into contact with the product and there is nothing
that can be done for them, they will die.  Her vet said they 
get many cats in that have come into contact with products that 
use this ingrediant and they are beyond help.  Other than that I have heard it works very well... just applied it on my boy yesterday.  Interestingly Pyrethrin is also in other bug sprays such as Wipe... just a word of caution to cat owners.. wash your hands and anything else that may have come into contact with these products!
