My butt STILL hurts and I'm frustrated!
Okay.
I posted last week about how my seatbones were hurting
because the seat on my Saare saddle (wide CC tree) is so
wide and flat as to accommodate my horse.
My horse feels just great with this saddle, but I, on the
other hand, am suffering!
After emailing with many of you, I chose to try the Supracor
seat saver. I rode in it yesterday. It did indeed take the
pressure off my seat bones (although they still hurt just a
little) but I couldn't stand how high I felt - totally out
of touch with my horse - I felt like I was riding a camel,
LOL. Also, because the seat saver extends up to the front
of the saddle, I was experiencing some very uncomfortable
rubbing in the front crotch area because there was too much
padding there. *blush*
I ended up taking the seat saver off 1.5 hours into my ride,
sticking it in my saddlebag and dealing with the seatbone
issue for the rest of the ride.
So now my next question.
Is there any way to re-work a saddle's seat to make the
twist narrower or at least accommodate one's seatbones
better? And is there anybody who can/will do this? I don't
know of any good saddlemakers in my area, so don't know
where to start.
I have a call in to Sharon Saare to see what she says, but
still would like any other recommendations or suggestions.
Thanks,
Jennifer
