Not talking diesel (gasoline 460 cu in). And a 350 is what it has in it already,
and it is definintely NOT the right gearing. Way too high, which is why I am
having it replaced. I have made the appointment to have the 454 put in, as
that is what they are recommending, but I suspect that (being a 4WD shop)
that they might be thinking more along the lines of "off roading" (which I
will be doing also...and yes, with the trailer, in fact I have a camping trip planned
for this weekend to "test drive" the whole rig, which will include 15 miles
down a dirt road in the back of the San Bernardino mountains), but I do need
to go down the highway as well, so maybe th 410 might be better.
Or maybe the 454 with a gear splitter?
Any recommendations?
