housekeeping
Isn't it comforting to know , that there are people out there with the same priorities, when it comes to keeping a house clean? hee hee   Here are some ideas I have about keeping the house clean, even though I work, have kids, 5 horses, 3 dogs, 2 cats and chickens.
1. A couple times a year, throw a party or invite company that your husband cares about. Suddenly the little patch/paint/fix  jobs will get done, and a certain urgency about getting the place nice, will help it get done fast.
2. When your husbands' eyes start rolling every time he walks by a big pile of newspapers/mail/junk....announce that the housekeepers are coming and we have to clean off all the junk so they can clean underneath.  Do this about 6 times a year.(at night)
3. Keep the catbox in the basement, or far far away.
4. Only clean on rainy, pouring, snowing , hailing days, or at night.  Remember John Wayne; "You're wastin daylight".   Daylight is for riding.
5. Make sure that any area that contains horses, that will be seen by a visitor driving in, has very nice rake marks, so it looks like you clean twice a day. It helps to do it around the outside of your corral, where the rake marks won't get ruined. Doing this after a rain, and at night, saves even more time.  (Don't the traditional Japanese gardens have rake marks?)
6. Paper plates are a woman's friend. As is duct tape.
