shipping tips needed

Have never had to ship a medical case before.
We are bringing a mare from a medical rescue to be fostered for about 2 weeks here and then going to her new home with my farrier. She has Club foot... I would like to make her three hour trip as comfortable as possible. I have a 3 horse slant that can colapse and be very roomy if needed. well padded with about 1/2 inch mats. Would like to have more input to make sure she has a good ride to her temporary location comfortbly. has good ventilation too.
