Bit Ports-not what you think!

Most "high" ports are MILDER-that is a tongue relief area,and no horse can relax without it,with his tongue held down,making it impossible to swallow.(Just try that yourself-don't swallow for five minutes,and you will have tremendous tension in your neck and jaw.)Test your "high port" bit,by putting in his mouth all by itself,with no bridle or curb chain.You can rotate it all the way,180 degrees front to back,cant you? The only bits that touch the palate are really high ones.Try yours,and give him all the tongue relief that will fit under the port.
