RE:RC: RE: Helmet, Another Point of View
This story brings flashbacks of the day my very athletic little horse
(on her 1st 50) summer-saulted with me in the middle of no where. We
both landed in a heap. Then, as I lay there, I heard & felt three
hoofbeats on my helmeted head. The only pain I felt was as my horse
skied off my helmet, over my ear and down my neck and shoulder, while
driving my face into the desert sand. Lying there in the sand, I
thanked God that I had worn my helmet that day. (Before that, I'd been
an intermittent helmet wearer; now I'll never get on a horse without
one.)
