Hi Jerri
Sometimes never :-) I had a colt separated from his dam for a few
months. He was finally allowed back in pasture and immediately started
nursing again and Mama let him--- her milk came back in. I guess what I
am saying is that it is totally individual depending on the mare and
foal... and Mama pretty well calls the shots! So what good do averages
do you anyway?
