Seems to me that for the purpose of PARTICIPATING in the sport, 13 wouldn't 
be too old at all, given that the horse is reasonably sound and healthy. But 
to take one this age, START him in the sport, and hope to sell him at a 
profit of any kind I think is unrealistic. I as a BUYER wouldn't BUY a horse 
(most likely 15 by then) for any decent price - for good money I would want 
similar training, not too many wearing miles, and not more than about 9 years 
old. s
