While the sheep may not get BSE they do get Scrapie which is the sheep form
of the condition. An interesting side light to this matter, when we rode
across Iceland we came upon  a sheep proof fence. We were told it separated
that land that might contain sheep with Scrapie from those not contaminated.
If a sheep was found on the wrong side of the fence it was immediately
slaughtered and the carcass sent to the labs for inspection. That is the
Icelandic method of control. Instant, and no argument.

These healthy sheep were seized by our government because in 1996 the MAY
have eaten feed
which MAY have been contaminated with mad cow which at this time does not
affect sheep.
They have never been sick. My thoughts on this is the government is way out
of control
here. All indications are that these sheep are not and have not caused a
problem.
