Depends on where the ride is held. If it were held in open range country,
you have the responsibility to keep them out of your pen with sufficient
fencing. Most areas are not open range and the responsibility would be on
the owner of the loose horses. Legal fence could be a defense. Portable
corrals are unlikely to meet the requirements of a legal fence. The laws
vary from state to state. There may other issues - consult an attorney if
you want a totally accurate and complete answer.
