Why Lynn is not a trainer

Lynn, like me, has probably been riding for most of her life.  Maybe at one time she thought trainers were like gods.  Later, she might have gotten cynical after seeing idiots beating on horses in the show barn, and chasing them with grocery bags, and stallions crouching to their knees at Scottsdale, and quarter horses who couldn't swish their tails and so forth.  Things that make you go "hmmm".  Then maybe Lynn might have been riding 30 years or so, and realized her horses were nicer than many of the "trainers" were turning out.  And that you didn't have to take the bar, or a licensing exam in order to hang your shingle.  And then Lynn may have found out the cost of liability insurance.  Maybe she heard one too many stories of spectacular falls, and crippling injuries.  Maybe she got tired of giving excellent advice to people who tuned around and went to a "real trainer", and their horse is now on the rodeo circuit,  bucking.   Maybe she decided, "screw it", and pulled up a lawn chair at a competitive ride, and popped open a cold one, and watched the beauty of her own animal munching hay.  If that's what happened, probably there is no hope for Lynn ever becoming a trainer.  You are hopeless Lynn!   But...maybe she'd be...a mentor.     Beth  (meow)
