At times and in certain places I have seen normal hay bales compressed to
about one cubic foot. I understood these were for overseas shipping. (a
sixty pound bale in one cubic foot) Something like this would provide your
roughage and save space. Heavy to handle though. Here in Idaho many Guiding
outfits feed nothing but hay cubes in the wilderness. The horses get nothing
but the cubes for months at a time. No grazing at all.

Sue, of all the COMPLETE feeds you know how would you rank them in order of
quality? I really want to use a complete feed and supplement that with
grazing as much as I can. That way I don't have to worry about the horses
having enough roughage during the times grazing isn't available. Does that
