Maria: Does he use an English type saddle? If so, I had a similar problem and had good luck with the Cottage Craft girth. It's a cotton lycra type stretchy girth, as opposed to the leather variety or the neoprene. I cover it with the fleece and make sure the fleece is very clean. When I saddle up, I stretch the horse's front leg's forward, to make sure there aren't skin wrinkles under there.  Maybe that'll help.  Beth
