Egg Bar shoes

My gelding that I ride endurance on has been slightly off for 4 weeks now and
after x-rays the vet believes he just has a sore frog. He is recommending egg
bar shoes on him. My horses are the only endurance horses he deals with and I
wondering does anyone else ride with egg bar shoes are their endurance horses?
