RE: Rump Rug Question
I got the one from Sportack this year. It flapped around quite
a bit in the wind and caused my guy to act like a total idiot.
Haven't ridden much in the rain with it because it hasn't rained
a whole lot here lately. It seems to have adequate coverage
for rain protection IF anyone has a suggestion as to how to keep
it from blowing over to one side! Any solutions, folks? I'm also
interested in feedback on rump rugs.
Kathy.

Subject: RC: Rump Rug Question
I'm looking at rump rugs for my horse, and need some input on pros and
cons
of two types. I want the kind that attaches to the back of the saddle
(rather than to the front). I've narrowed my choices to the Easy Bun
Warmer
(in the Sportack catalog) and the Horse Bums Croup Cover (in the Trail's
End
Catalog). The Easy Bun covers a smaller area than the Horse Bums, which
comes way down the sides of the hind quarters.
Anyone have any comments about either? Does the Horse Bums (longer)
type
flap around a lot or get caught in brush? Does the smaller (Easy Bun)
type
adequately protect the horse's hind quarters, particularly if it's
raining?
Any input, personal experiences, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
Private
replies are welcome to avoid cluttering the list, unless y'all feel that
this
is of general interest!
Thanks!
