Susan,
I have used the Panacur this way. It is not a part of my regular worming
schedule because I think it is too stressful on the horse's system to be
a regular thing. I used it because my horse was not thrifty. She was not
maintaining her weight even with light work, and because she had gone
through a period of neglect before she came to me, I wanted to make sure
that any internal parasites that had not been "caught" by my regular
worming program would be eliminated. It worked, she has now been able to
put on weight. My regular worming treatment rotates Panacur with
Ivermctin on a 6 - 8 week schedule, depending on the weather conditions.
(6 weeks in hot humid weather, 8 weeks in cold dry weather)
