RE: Lyme Disease

I bought a 12 year old Arab mare three months ago and just found out that she has Lyme Disease.  The titer test showed a low positive (1:640) and western blot test was also low positive.  My vet recommended a 2 week course of tetracycline.  

This is my first year doing competitive trail riding and I'm very new at this.  When should I start conditioning my mare?  Is there anyone out there who's horse has had Lyme Disease and what approach did you take to get your horse in condition again.  My mare was very much underweight when I got her and in the past 3 months she's put on almost 200 lbs.  I was mostly doing ground work and light riding in the ring once or twice a week, since treating her for LD I've stopped working her all together.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
