Re: Rails-to-trails response
Their funding is based on 'mutiple use'. If they aren't accomodating
everyone perhaps their funding could be cut? Find out WHO you are speaking
with on the phone and instead of throwing away the next letter you recieve
for funding Rails to Trails, respond and ask them why thier marketing is
being intentionally geared towards bicyclists and not horsemen? Are they
intentionally not including or accomodating us. Ask them to respond in a
timely manner and to include the head of their marketing Department and also
their Legal Defense team. That ought to stir up a response. We need to be
thoughtful and diplomatic but UNRELENTING. We do not have to be Rude. Just
inquisitive and persistant. The squeeky wheel gets the grease. Thats why all
those hikers complaining about poop on the trail have a voice when it comes
to wilderness protection and the Sierra club. During the winter when we've
pulled shoes is when we need to get busy writing letters. As an Endurance
Rider I'd much rather be zipping down the trail at an extended trot or a
rolling canter just like everybody else, but where are we going to ride when
others have made their voices heard and we haven't? Thats the nagging
question we should all be asking ourselves.
