dressage/all purpose saddles

okay..here we go...I have a question..and it's not even that stupid
-for those of you who use english saddles, do you prefer all purpose style 
saddles (with more of a forward flap) or a dressage style (with a straight 
flap)?  I know that some people who ride with a longer stirrup like dressage 
saddles and some people who like to ride with shorter stirrups like all 
purpose saddles.  I have ridden in a dressage saddle and, to tell you the 
truth, I couldn't even tell the difference...maybe because I was too busy 
yelling at the horse :-)
just let me know what you prefer and why....thanks a bundle
