RE: RC: RE: spooking arabs theory

Oh I don't know if they're a good enough substitute! We never had a problem
with bicycles, but the llamas really did a number. My mare tried to put her
head up higher than the llamas and snorted and pranced. My husband's
gelding completely freaked - kept doing 180's because he couldn't decide
whether to run up to them or run away. It was very scary since llamas were
new to both horses at the same time. The interesting thing is that nothing
would get the horses past them the first time, but afterwards they almost
could care less. I heard of a CTR obstacle where someone brought a llama.
I'm thinking of getting one, just so all the horses become used to them!
But then my mare is more afraid of minis than llamas!

we don't have llamas roaming around our trails but the bicycle riders and
runners work as a wonderful substitute. :-)
