pasture for arthritic mare

I have a friend in Havasu Arizona, with a horse that can't be ridden and she 
is looking for some where  she could  place her.  Anyone know of a facility 
that caters for older, lame horses etc.?  Or anybody has suggestions to help 
her out. She doesn't want the horse put down.  If you can help, please e-mail
