Want to thank those of you who posted about the problems you had with the throttle cable or the thing with the spring/accelerator in the 95-96 Dodges. I saved the posts and took them to my mechanic to read when I was having the (96 Dodge) truck inspected today. The throttle cable on mine was frayed too and wouldn't have lasted long-I think he said it was inside the casing and hard to see. I had a throttle cable break on the 1990 Ford F-250 I used to have (not while towing) when I was passing a semi on a 4-lane and was lucky to be at a spot where I could drift off the road onto the median once I realized I had no acceleration- it's scarey. All of a sudden the gas pedal is just sort of flapping in the breeze- uh oh. The trucker was sort of alarmed I guess because he got off at the next exit and came back to see if I was all right- he thought he had forced me off the road somehow. At the time I thought it was probably an unusual problem. Deb LaBerge
