Maria, I want to get my horse to eat, when we are in our hold and if alfalfa is what she'll eat, than alfalfa is it. As long as her heart rate is recovered, I want her eating and drinking the whole hold. They burn so many calories on these long rides, they need to eat. I also want her guts to keep moving. I won't feed only grain at a hold and a bucket of mash with treats in it may not be enough.
