Re: seat savers
I made a cover recently from sheapskin.
To make it I used the following pattern ( for an allover one)
use a numnah pattern for the flaps and cut stragiht across the top edges
were the numnahs flaps curve and would normally go under the saddles seat.
use a piece of scrap mateiral and trace around the back and front of the
seat of your saddle . Leave a flat edge to match up with your flap piece.
Use this as your pattern
sew the peices together and pace over saddle to ensure fit.
Use two other pieces of materiel the saem shape as the flaps but about half
the lenght to form pockets to slip the saddles skirts in.
Run a piece of webbing strap from the cantle to pommel under the saddle
sew each end leaving bout 2 " extra. Cut through at the middle and sew a
piece of velcro to the cut bits. This will then hold the cover in place.
Hope this is helpful tis hard to explan but works!
Tamara
use another scrap to trace around
