Re: Easyboot question
Karen,
Thanks for your input on the Easy boots. I've been using them for some time
now. Have figured out through trial and error (wish I'd asked you first!)
how to trim down the heel strap to only two ribs. I also put bolts through
the clamps that hold the boots on so that the clamps open open and release
the tension (this info from Jaime Jackson in "Horse Owners Guide to Natural
Hoof Care") The bolt is 7/l6 and is tightened and released with a wrench.
It's working well for us.
But I have a friend who swears she bruised her horse's walls because of
tension exerted by the boots. Who knows? Maybe this happened and maybe it
didn't.

Are you using them over shoes?
By the way, I also applied a grinder to the toes of the boots as they didn't
have a nice breakover, in my opinion, but that was an easy fix. Also, I find
them very quick and easy to get on and off. I hear many people griping about
how hard this process is. Don't know why that is.
