I wasn't implying that you were "scared" of winning...but your posts did
remind me that for a while, not really realizing it (and I probably still
am), I had lost so much confidence in myself and was so afraid of just
going faster (forget about winning!!!), that I wasn't allowing my horse to
do what he really was capable of doing. I was holding him back. Your choice
to hold your horse in check and not race is your choice, neither good nor
bad. As is the choice of those who DO choose to go faster and perhaps
"win"... don't get me wrong. You aren't going to see me out there whipping
my horse across the finish line in an attempt to win (NOT THAT ANYONE
DOES!!!!!!)...but I am going to make a conscious effort to improve our
speed and performance this year ACCORDING TO OUR ABILITIES (notice that I
said OUR because I feel I am a TEAM with my horse) and I hope that if I
cross the finish line before you, that I won't become a bad person.
