RE: re: selling a saddle
Kimberly:
I've bought and sold a couple saddles over the net. As the buyer - you want
to ensure your getting what you are shown. If your a seller - you want to
get paid. As the buyer you should ask for a recent photo (digital works
well)and an honest assessment of the condition of the saddle. Ask for a
satisfaction guarantee if returned within 7 days. If the saddle is what the
seller says...this won't be a problem. If it is - move on to the next deal.
As the Seller, I offer the same and insist on a COD with Fed Ex or UPS and a
cashiers check. A bad check isn't easy to collect and is perhaps you
biggest risk.

I've sold several saddles over the net and I try to encourage the buyer to
go to a tack store and take out the same model / size to try on their horse
first. If it is a 'common' type saddle this works and they also see first
hand that the used saddle is a better deal. Otherwise, they would have to
pay shipping there and back again and make their decision within 3 days
after delivery.
