Re: Biofocals and (trail)riding

I am somewhat near sighted so when I got bifocals my distance lenses were negative and the near lenses positive.  My eye doctor advised against progressive or completely across the bottom kind because I needed to be able to look around the bifocal to see my toes.  He is right.

For a number of years my riding goggles were just distance vision and it was OK.  A couple of years ago I felt I needed to be able to see near, especially first thing in the morning.  I had a pair of goggles made with small bifocal parts, set very low.  While I would not want to read the newspaper with them, I can see maps and tack, and most of my lens is distance to allow me to see the ground in front of the horse.
