The biggest danger to a horse is to be bitten on the nose, then the
airway swells shut and they suffocate. If you think you're at risk, you
can carry a short pieceof hose. If the horse is bitten, run the hose up
his nose and I suppose tape it in place. Then it can't swell shut.
