Best round trip flight I could find for me was
Pittsburgh to Reno for $569 coach on a non-refundable
special booked 90 days in advance.  I'm not sure where
those $200 specials are - I'd love to find them.  The
cost added up to more than I could afford right now,
so I miss the convention.

I can drive to Washington DC for $45 round trip.  This
is a hub city with family attractions.

I can drive to Orlando FL round trip for $140 (another
hub city with attractions for the family)

I repeat - there are more riders in AERC than just in
the West.  There are other hub cities with appropriate
attractions for families.  The easterners pay dues,
just like the folks out west!  Bring the convention
around the country!

BTW, I <did> write to my directors.  We'll see if it
helps.  Regarding comments from some that it takes 4+
years of booking ahead, all I can say is "Times a'
wastin'!  Call the convention centers in the east."
