#1 Thing I
carry:
Clipped to my horse's
bridle is a tag with her name on it. My phone number and city and state
are also listed. She threw me in the hills a year ago and ran off. A
horse person grabbed her on the other side of the highway and was able to phone
my house and leave a message.
Snugpax:
two water
bottles
first aid kit [bandaids,
tape, tweezers, guaze, cough drop, tylenol, visine, alcohol wipes,
etc.]
a pencil and paper with an
I.D. card in a ziploc bag
whistle
glow stick
rain poncho
collapsible hoof
pick
swiss army
knife
vet wrap
tube of
electrolytes
extra people
food
sometimes a ziploc full of
grain
leather ties are under
snugpax for tying rain coat
I also carry an easy boot
in a bag off to the side
Waist Pack:
water bottle
kleenex
lots of food [power bar,
fruitios, peanut butter crackers, kudos bar, nutrigrain fruitful bars (those new
ones)]
Small Pommel
Pack:
heart rate monitor is
attached
ride card in baggie in a
small, zippered compartment on bag
Chapstick clipped to dee
rings in front
O.J. scoop clipped to dee
rings in rear
Gee! I didn't know I
had so much stuff on me! The truth is though, none of this is that
heavy. It does add weight, but I try to keep small quantities of each
item.
