High fat diet

What qualifies as a high fat diet? I'm currently feeding 1.3 cups of oil.
Is that high? I was reading
Hollander's book and he said that a high fat diet washes out  Vit A-D.
How often would they need
the shots for this? He also said that horses on a high fat diet need to
be "exercised often", but didn't
say what often is. Does anyone know if this is true, how often often is
and why?
