EN article policy

I think a distinction needs to be made between the individual and the policy.

Donna's columns are good work, but unless every contributor is paid 
in  cash or in kind, then there should be no compelling reason for EN to do 
so for her.

If the publication cannot afford to pay for articles, so be it.

If Donna (rightfully) expects payment for effort expended in writing 
articles, and if they are as popular as they would seem to be from posts 
here, perhaps she would consider an electronic newsletter for subscribers.
