Barefoot horses doing endurance...
Why not just put shoes on the horse? If it is going to be doing a 50 (that
doesn't have good footing, like not sand, or no rocks) or 100 or multi-day, I
would almost think it would be un-fair to make a horse go all those miles on
barefeet. OUCH! Sure there are some horses with tougher feet than others but
still... Maybe a 25 would be okay, but for the horses that do many miles all
year long, shoes seem neccesary. Why risk tender feet and or stone bruises?
