I've had the best luck with Professional's Choice for splint boots
(interference boots), ankle boots, and bell boots. They're tough and do the
job, but don't rub or chafe.

I will agree with the Professional's Choice brand. I use the short Quick
Wrap splint boots for the front and the ankle boots in the back. Both well
made, last a long time, do not shift, seem comfortable to the horse, and
because of Velcro, are infinitely adjustable and very easy and quick to put
on. I've never had a problem with them rubbing. They seem about as
foolproof as it is possible to have. Not cheap, but worth the price.
Machine washable, too. Because of the padded leather reinforcement over the
joint/splint areas, I use a leather wash when I put them in the machine and
hang to air dry.
