Re: RC: interference boots
Hi Karma and Ridecamp: Are you guys talking about bells or splints? I have
Professional choice sports medicine splint boots, which I don't use that
much except in arena work. I've ridden a lot of NATRC and they don't allow
any type of boot or wrap, so I just never did get in the habit. Now we rode
in Tevis and my horse cut her hind leg with a slight puncture so we had to
pull. She healed nicely without any problems, but I felt bad that I didn't
have boots on, thinking they MAY have protected her leg. But I don't think
the Sport's medicine boots are going to be right because they are so heavy,
and tricky to get on and off. I was worried about getting them off quick to
check her legs in case of sand getting in there. I got myself a set of
Farnam Proequine simple splint boots (4) to try and so far they seem nice.
I'm still in a quandry about when to put them on and off during a ride like
Tevis. (Off for the bogs? On for the Canyons? Off for the river crossing?)
Any ideas? Beth

boots for his rear fetlocks. >>
Hi Shelly,
I like the Professional's Choice brand. I've had very little trouble with
losing them and they clean up real easily:-) Karma
