Re: Manure management at rides

... Someone inspects your camp before you leave and if it is clean, you get
the check back.  If not, they keep it and the hired helpers do the cleaning... maryben

It is unreasonable that ride management should be expected to distribute bags, provide disposal sites, collect checks, inspect campsites, make refunds, and hire a cleaning crew on top of their more obvious responsibilities.

It is annoying to pull into a campsite and have to pick up after the person who camped there before.  After all the effort we put in to promoting equestrian trail rights and to prove that horses exert minimal impact on campsites and wilderness areas I am dumbfounded by the apparent need for this thread.  What's so tough about tossing a few forkloads of manure into a feed bag and hauling it home?

Riders should have the good sense to clean up after their horses in camp.  Ride management should be able to take this for granted.
