This is not really a ride camp topic.  Probably better hashed out in the 
trails section.  But, in defense and in defiance of extremists and 
screamists on closure issues, Gore is not an extremist.  You won't find him 
chaining himself to a tree of window ledge (as is done here in the 
northwest).  In fact, without conservation policies such as the ESA, we 
would loose a lot more land to development and explotation, which does mean 
less recreational use.

Thanks, Edie, for your post.  It's election day, and we will all soon be 
working with our new congress and administration both federal and state in 
maintaining trail access.  Bear in mind, that we, the people, mandated that 
protection of species, waters, air, and land was a priority for all of us.  
Congress does not work in a vacuum.
