Edie, first off this is not a political forum, but for the sake of trail 
preservation, I will respond simply by asking you if you have ever read Al 
Gore's book EARTH IN THE BALANCE.  If you have not, then I strongly suggest 
that you do so before you suggest that Mr. Gore does not have an agenda to 
lock the public off of public lands.  I think you will find it to be a real 
eye-opener as to what this man really thinks--despite his campaign rhetoric.
