Try blindfolding him at the vet check. I had a friend who had a horse who acted much like yours, all she did was blindfold him when she reached the vet check and he would calm right down. She used a Bandana she carried for this purpose and just tucked it into his bridle at the vet check, it could also be removed quickly in case of emergency. Hope this helps, Corky Young
